It's that time again people!

Whether you love or loathe the confused event that is Christmas, the fact still remains that it is upon us once again.

I say confused because for some it is a spiritual occasion, and for others it is purely an exercise in rampant commercialism and indulgence.

I would guess that there are people that enjoy one whilst envying the other and vice versa, but for me I like to try and strike a happy balance between the two.

We would all agree that it is a time that is best enjoyed with family, maybe not every single member (there's always one brother....), but as a collective there probably isn't a nicer time of year for most.

We as a family try to keep a rein on spending at Christmas as it's all too easy to get carried away with the avarice that our capitalist idealists seem to want us to be seduced by, but you have to keep life in perspective, especially at this time of year, and spare a thought for the less fortunate people we share this town, country and indeed, planet with.

I feel this in turn then lends itself to giving you a greater appreciation of what we are blessed with in our first world lives.

Aside from that, it's then the people who don't have the comfort of loved ones and feel the loneliness more so at times like these. It's a strange thing, but when you have the care and love of someone close and/or family, the material things become insignificant.

So again, I like to spare a thought for those people who have not the things money can't buy.

Anyway, this rambling has absolutely nothing to do with the band or music, but we've played a few gigs of late, notably the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Beer & Music Festival, which was a ball, and in Huddersfield town centre this Friday gone, at Lightfoot's, which we enjoyed greatly. It was really nice to see some familiar faces there and we seriously appreciate the people that come to see us!

We debuted three new tracks there the other evening, and we hope they were well received.

Well, we hope you enjoy your festive season this year and look forward to seeing you in the new year, starting at The Royal in Milnsbridge on the 3rd January.

So, spare a thought for those less fortunate than you, tell your loved ones you love them, and enjoy the festivities.

Eat, drink and be merry!
